LEXINGTON, KY – Students in Haupt Humanities were forced to evacuate after early demolition began on the building during class hours Friday afternoon. Mitchell Fine Arts and Old Morrison were also demolished today as students and administrative personnel looked on.
“One minute, I was discussing the various feminist implications of Voldemort’s Horcruxes in my Gender Identities in British Magical Fiction class.” One student said outside the wreckage, “Next thing I knew, a wrecking ball came busting through the window. I swear it almost took out Derek.”
Naturally, much of the campus demanded answers in the face of a demolished campus. The University President held a press conference in front of the Old Morrison rubble shortly after the last pillar fell.
“Well, we were going to renovate Haupt next year anyway,” he said to the besieged campus, “and we got a better rate to go ahead and do them all at once. It was kind of a limited time offer, so we had to get started this afternoon.”
No word yet where classes where be held the rest of the semester. The Shambler will follow the story as it develops.
